A wise man once said “a man with a beard knows how to folk.” Now, that wise man may have been me, but that doesn’t make it not true. Living breathing proof of that is John J Presley. Mixing raw garage blues, with a darkly folk tinge, John J Presley began making music on his own seven years and has slowly and steadily been building up a bit of a following.

It's been a very rewarding and busy few months for John J Presley and his band in the studio and on the road. Citing influences from Tom Waits, The Kills, Josh T Pearson and Duke Garwood, John Presley will bring his own concoction of Delta Blues Rock with a Folk Noir detail to many stages across the UK this summer and, most importantly of all, to Split Festival 2012.

After being chosen as Artist of the Week on Kerrang! Radio; track of the day for Killing Moon, recent additions to the Amazing Radio playlist and a looming Camden Crawl show on the Artrocker stage, it seems the recordings are spreading organically around the UK… and with personal invitations from Band of Skulls, The Jim Jones Revue, Kill it Kid and The Brute Chorus to open shows for them, John J Presley and his band look like they’ve got a busy Summer ahead. With a double A-side on the cards for a summer release and an album in the making, this is the start of the next chapter for the gentleman from Birmingham which a strong penchant for fuzz.
